The Ironskull Gaming story — built by gamers, for gamers.

Our Story

Ironskull Gaming (ISG) began as a childhood dream of working for Games Workshop or within the Wargaming Industry and I have been part of the UK tabletop gaming community since 1988.

Fast forward to 2004 and I landed my dream job and ran one of the UK's Battle Bunkers. I have had the joy of working within the industry ever since, working in the Warhammer World Studio and for Warlord Games as their HQ Store Manager. During this time the forge within burned bright, echoing Ironskull Gaming in my mind but after a little push I began my journey using the ISG Socials to track my personal hobby accomplishments.

What started as a shared passion for Warhammer has flowed into an unwavering passion for the wider wargaming pantheon for which we have become a full community hub — a place where hobbyists, collectors, and competitive players come together to celebrate the games they love.

From our early days on the tabletop to building a thriving online presence, our mission has never changed: PUT THE COMMUNITY FIRST! Every review we write, every tutorial we film, and every event we run is driven by that same founding spirit.

What We Do

ISG is more than a store. We create content and experiences across three pillars:

• Product Reviews — Honest, in-depth reviews of miniatures, paints, terrain, and gaming accessories to help you make the right choice.
• Tutorials — Step-by-step hobby guides covering painting techniques, basing, terrain building, and more — for all skill levels.
• Events — We organise and support wargaming, card gaming, and board gaming events across the UK, bringing the community together face to face.

The Team Behind ISG

ISG is run by me, 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕴𝖗𝖔𝖓 𝕵𝖆𝖗𝖑 and I am lucky enough to have a dedicated Collective of hobbyists who live and breathe tabletop gaming to keep the forges burning bright with content, reviews, tutorials and much more. We're painters, collectors, tournament players, and storytellers — united by a love of the hobby and a commitment to the community that has supported us for over 35 years.
